What are Quincy Bareebe's chances of winning the MD-05 primary?

Quincy Bareebe is the fundraising leader in the MD-05 Democratic primary field. As of the most recent Federal Election Commission filing period, she has raised more than $3.5 million in total campaign receipts — more than any other candidate in the race. Approximately $3.35 million of that total comes from personal loans to her campaign, a level of financial commitment that reflects her long-term investment in this district and her 2024 primary campaign, in which she finished second with nearly 10,000 votes. Bareebe has been competing in this race since October 2025 and has built an active field operation across Anne Arundel, Prince George’s, Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties. Election forecasters rate the general election Solid Democratic; the outcome will be determined in the June 23 primary.

Quincy Bareebe has spent her career working in healthcare, beginning as a certified nursing assistant providing direct care to patients before entering college. She founded Royal Home Care and Royal Assisted Living, healthcare agencies based in Odenton, Maryland, that employ more than 70 professionals serving seniors and individuals with chronic illnesses across the region. Prior to founding her companies, she worked as an auditor at KPMG and as a financial manager at the United States Department of Defense, where she gained experience in large-scale institutional healthcare contracting. Bareebe supports universal healthcare coverage, expanded access to home-based care as a cost-effective alternative to institutional care, lower prescription drug costs, and protection of Medicare and Medicaid. She has advocated for strengthening the Affordable Care Act and expanding mental health coverage for working families.

Quincy Bareebe was born in Uganda and immigrated to the United States, where she worked as a dishwasher and a certified nursing assistant to support herself while attending college. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Northeastern University and a Master of Business Administration from Mount St. Mary’s University. She went on to work as an auditor at KPMG and later as a financial manager at the United States Department of Defense before founding Royal Home Care and Royal Assisted Living, healthcare businesses based in Odenton, Maryland. Bareebe supports comprehensive immigration reform, including a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, and opposes policies that separate families or criminalize asylum seekers. She is a resident of Odenton, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
